Angle Mode (Stabilized/Self-Level Mode)

< 1 min read

Angle Mode—also known as Stabilized or Self-Level Mode—is a beginner-friendly FPV drone flight mode in which the drone automatically self-levels whenever the control sticks are released. This mode uses both a gyroscope and an accelerometer to keep the drone upright, making it much easier to fly, especially for new pilots or when flying in tight spaces. In Angle Mode, the maximum tilt angle is limited (typically around 45 degrees, but this can be adjusted), which prevents the drone from flipping over, even with full stick input. As a result, the drone will only tilt as far as the stick is pushed and will return to level flight when the stick is centered. This makes Angle Mode ideal for learning basic controls, hand launching, hand catching, or recovering from disorientation, and is commonly used on camera drones for smooth, stable footage. However, it is less suitable for aggressive maneuvers or advanced freestyle tricks, which require the full manual control offered by Acro Mode.
