Configurators

< 1 min read

FPV (First-Person View) flight controller configurators are software tools used to set up, calibrate, and tune the flight controllers on FPV drones. These configurators connect to the drone’s flight controller via USB or Wi-Fi and provide an interface for adjusting various parameters, such as:

  1. PID Tuning: Optimizing Proportional, Integral, and Derivative (PID) settings to control how the drone responds to movements.
  2. Mode Settings: Configuring flight modes like angle mode (self-leveling), acro mode (full manual), and horizon mode (a mix of both).
  3. Receiver Configuration: Setting up how the drone responds to inputs from the transmitter, including channel mapping.
  4. ESC and Motor Calibration: Ensuring electronic speed controllers (ESCs) and motors are calibrated for smooth operation.

Popular configurators include Betaflight, INAV, and KISS, each tailored to specific firmware used on FPV drones.
